Doctoral studies at HZI: Exciting projects for tomorrow's top researchers

The first call was successful – now the “Curiosity is infectious” campaign is to be continued.

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) has a lot to offer its doctoral candidates: Together with renowned partner institutions, the center has developed high-quality doctoral programs that impart in-depth expertise in innovative future disciplines and train the specialists of tomorrow. In addition to a first-class scientific education at one of the leading health research institutions, young scientists at HZI have the opportunity to expand their interdisciplinary knowledge and gain valuable additional skills in areas such as management and soft skills.

In order to draw attention to the wide range of fascinating doctoral topics available and to bring the most talented master's graduates together with the right scientific group leaders, HZI recently launched its new recruiting initiative, “Curiosity is Infectious.” The initiative has been a success, with numerous qualified applications received by the center. Sixteen of the candidates will start working on an exciting research project this summer, laying the foundation for their scientific careers (list of projects starting soon).

Due to the positive response, the initiative will be continued: From now on, HZI will regularly search for the infection researchers of the future under the label “Curiosity is Infectious.”
