Why rising temperatures bring new risks of infection - what research and public health need to do now
The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research cordially invites you to a press workshop on the topic of “Climate crisis and pathogens”.
Infectious diseases in a changing climate - a growing risk
Climate change is not only altering our environment, but also the global health situation. Vector-borne diseases are spreading to new regions, pathogens are reaching previously unaffected areas, and climate-related crises are favoring the emergence of pandemics. In cooperation with Helmholtz KLIMA - the Helmholtz-wide dialog platform for climate-relevant research - leading scientists will provide insights into current research projects and show which strategies are now necessary.
Time and place
The press workshop will take place on July 02, 2025 at 3 pm. It will be hosted by Helmholtz KLIMA - Markgrafenstraße 22 D, 10117 Berlin. The event will be held in German. Individual discussions with the experts are also possible in English.
