The Helmholtz Institute for One Health (HIOH) Greifswald is a branch of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). Here, researchers investigate the connections between human health, animal health and the environment. Our goal is to better understand zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance and the evolution of pathogens, thereby contributing to the prevention of pandemics. We are looking for a student/research assistant (m/f/d) for up to 40 hours per month, starting on 1 November 2025. A background in natural sciences/medicine or education/teaching would be desirable, but students from other disciplines are also welcome to apply. It is important that you are motivated to learn new things and enjoy working with school students.
Tasks
- Planning lesson content and logistics
- Corresponding with teachers and other partners
- Collecting and managing samples and, if you have the right experience, processing sample material (DNA isolation, PCR, sequencing)
- Supporting groups of students during practical lessons at school
Prerequisites
- Ability to work independently, communicate well and work in a team
- Good coordination and organisational skills
- Reliability and sense of responsibility
- Good with children and young people
- Enrolled student
- Knowledge of German (min. B2)
- Knowledge of English

40 hours per month
