The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research GmbH (HZI), Germany's largest non-university infection research center, is a member of the Helmholtz Association and conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to combat infectious diseases more quickly and effectively. Our common goal is to develop novel approaches to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. Bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system, and new effective drugs and vaccines are at the center of our research.
The Innovation Management (IMM) department supports technology and knowledge transfer at the HZI. To build expertise for future start-up teams, the HZI supports and accompanies the establishment of the new specialization in bio-entrepreneurship in the master's program in biology/biotechnology and technology-oriented management at the Technical University of Braunschweig. This is the first such program in the German-speaking world, with a planned start in the winter semester of 2026/2027.
Tasks
- Coordination of transfer-relevant topics and integration of the HZI into the newly established specialization in bio-entrepreneurship in the master's program in biology/biotechnology and technology-oriented management (TOM) at the Technical University of Braunschweig
- Networking among students and with the entrepreneurship ecosystem, including spin-offs and companies from the life sciences sector
- Support for teaching organization on the part of the HZI and organization of individual modules with partners from the entrepreneurship and biotech ecosystem
- Public relations work in the context of the conception and implementation of program marketing
Prerequisites
- Completed university degree or master's degree in economics, engineering, social sciences, natural sciences, or life sciences
- Knowledge of entrepreneurship ecosystems and network maintenance, as well as student counseling or university organization
- Experience in organizing and moderating exchange formats and events
- Knowledge of website and social media content maintenance, including the creation of target group-oriented content
- Experience in project management and organizational skills
- Confident manner and communication and presentation skills
- Initiative and structured working style
- Stylish German and business fluent English skills
