Become part of a dedicated team committed to a global health priority.
TWINCORE is a joint institution of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and Hannover Medical School (MHH). At TWINCORE, medical and basic scientists conduct joint research in the field of infection research, particularly at the interface between basic research and clinical development. The aim of this basic research is to develop new preventive measures, therapies, and diagnostic procedures for patients and to find answers to questions arising from clinical practice.
Our international and interdisciplinary research team is looking for a technical assistant to support us in our search for an effective prophylactic vaccine against the hepatitis C virus (HCV).
Why this research is important:
The hepatitis C virus (HCV) affects nearly 50 million people worldwide, and despite the availability of antiviral therapies, many remain undiagnosed or untreated. Every year, more than 240,000 people die from HCV complications. The World Health Organization has designated HCV a global health priority (PMID: 39500705). A preventive vaccine is urgently needed to reduce transmission and lower the global burden of disease.
About the project:
You will participate in a project funded by the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) in collaboration with national and international partners, including the RESIST Cluster of Excellence and the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research.
