Infections and their consequences continue to be responsible for one in five deaths worldwide. In this context, emerging and re-emerging pathogens, chronic infections, and increasing resistance to approved drugs pose new challenges for physicians.
The CiiM was founded in 2015 as a joint initiative of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and Hannover Medical School (MHH) and is the first research institute explicitly dedicated to the development of personalized medicine for infections. The departments and groups at CiiM are working toward the vision of treating infection patients in a way that is tailored and optimized to the specific needs and requirements of each individual. To achieve this, CiiM is dedicated to researching individual characteristics and their influence on susceptibility to infection or the success of treatment with available therapies.
In your role as an all-round IT system administrator at the Hanover site, you will be integrated into the structures of the HZI data center in Braunschweig and work closely with colleagues at the MHH data center and the neighboring TWINCORE. The aim is to build up the site, establish both local and central IT services provided by the parent institutions in cooperation with the data centers, and support local science in all IT matters. As the contact person for the integration of new and existing devices into the infrastructure, you will work independently in close coordination with the site management and the scientific working groups in Hanover. You will also support the onboarding of new employees at the Hanover site.
For training purposes, the successful candidate will first be trained at the Braunschweig site for 2-3 months to familiarize themselves with the systems and processes in the data center and to plan the site together with colleagues from Braunschweig. At the same time, implementation will take place at the Hanover site.
