The Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) is the world's first institution of its kind to combine research on ribonucleic acids (RNA) with infection biology. Based on new findings from its strong basic research program, the institute aims to develop innovative therapeutic approaches to better diagnose and treat human infections. The HIRI is part of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, in cooperation with the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg (JMU), and is located on the Würzburg Medical Campus.
The Technical Operations Department is responsible for building management and all new construction and renovation projects for our highly complex buildings and technical facilities for scientific use.
For one of these challenging new construction projects in Würzburg, we are looking for a project manager to represent the client as soon as possible.
Tasks
- As a client representative, you will manage one of our large-scale projects in service phase 8
- You will monitor construction progress and carry out external construction supervision
- You will monitor compliance with project targets in terms of time, costs, and quality
- You will manage the external project team consisting of planners and construction companies
- You will coordinate project-related communication with all parties involved
- You will prepare the handover of completed work and facilities to the operating company
- You will advise and support the institute in preparing for the move and taking over the building
- You will provide regular reports and ensure that reports to department management and funding bodies are accurate
Prerequisites
- A completed technical university degree, e.g. in architecture, civil engineering with a focus on building construction, construction-related project management or comparable
- Many years of practical professional experience in the cross-functional management of large construction projects for laboratory buildings or hospital buildings as a client representative for a public client
- Good knowledge of HOAI, VOB/VGV, and experience with RBBau/RZBau and VHB
- Very good written and spoken German (level C2)
- Negotiation skills and assertiveness, cost and deadline awareness
- Goal- and solution-oriented work style, enjoyment of coordinating complex construction projects, and excellent communication skills
Working hours
39 hours per week
