As a member of the Helmholtz Association, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research GmbH (HZI), Germany's largest non-university infection research centre, conducts cutting-edge research in the field of infectious diseases. Our scientists develop novel methods and strategies to fight infectious diseases faster and more effectively. Our common goal is to develop novel approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Bacterial and viral pathogens, their interaction with the human immune system and new effective active substances and vaccines are at the centre of our research.
The Innovation Management (IMM) Department supports the transfer of technology and knowledge at the HZI. For us, transfer means that science-based expertise is put to practical use outside the scientific community. The IMM team advises and supports researchers at the HZI in the identification and utilisation of research results, from industrial property rights to licensing and spin-offs.
Tasks
- Conceptualisation of an incubation environment in the life and health sciences (HEALTH HUB) for the HZI in Brauschweig
- Planning and development of an incubation infrastructure including financing options with regional interest groups and potential partners
- Planning, development and implementation of utilisation and business models for incubator operations
- Preparation of reports and presentations as well as participation in the implementation and further development of the centre's transfer strategy
Prerequisites
- University or Master's degree in economics (economics or business administration) / engineering (specialising in infrastructure planning) / law or in the natural or life sciences
- Expertise and experience in the planning and development of start-up and incubator infrastructures, as well as experience in the field of research institutions
- Experience and expertise in developing utilisation business models in cooperation with partners and openness to transfer these into independent operations if necessary
- Experience in managing projects and very good organisational skills
- Confident demeanour as well as communication and presentation skills
- Proactive and structured approach to work
- Fluent German and business fluent English skills
