Broad exploration of signaling pathways in liver cells
Our goal is to combine novel high-throughput phosphoprotein-based measurements and mathematical modeling to elucidate the signaling pathways in cells. We have applied that principle in two different areas of drug development: construction of normal and diseased signaling pathways for liver cancer (the
cornerstone to develop drugs for hepatocellular carcinoma), and identification of signaling motifs for liver toxicity (the primary reason of drug failure). Both examples highlight the importance of System biology approaches for drug development.
