Project title:
PK/PD characterization of broad-spectrum antivirals for pandemic preparedness
Tasks
Project description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the investigation of novel lead compounds with broad-spectrum antiviral activity. The cellular and molecular mechanism of action and the pharmacological properties of small-molecule as well as PROTACs will be studied by a combination of virological, biochemical, chemoproteomic and in silico modelling techniques, in close collaboration with other disciplines of the international network. A part of the work will be performed in biosafety level 3 laboratories on the campus.
Prerequisites
- Master´s Degree/Diploma (or equivalent) in cell biology, biochemistry, virology, pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
- Highly motivated to develop scientific skills
- First experiences with independent planning of experimental methods (molecular biology, biochemistry and bioanalytics) are required
- Expertise in virology and/or PK modelling is considered an advantage.
