Friends of the HZI – Focused support for Infection Research

World Class research demands concentrated and focused support. To be internationally successful, adequate financial resources and a supportive environment are both important. This applies also to the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). Scientists at the HZI study the mechanisms involved in infectious diseases and host defense. They systematically translate the results of basic research into clinical applications. The Friends of the HZI make an important contribution to these efforts.

Postdoctoral fellowships in Infection Research

The association “Friends of the HZI” has launched the “Singh-Chhatwal-Postdoctoral Fellowship Program” to attract talented researchers from abroad to HZI. Fellowships of 3200 Euro per month are awarded for two years to candidates with a background in life sciences and medicine.

Applicants should have completed their doctoral thesis and have an active interest in the field of infection biology. Excellent English language skills and a high motivation are required. We invite applicants who have already shown scientific excellence to get in contact with PIs from HZI and submit a joint application to the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
Instruction and application details about the program can be downloaded. (see enclosed PDFs):
