Friends of the HZI – Focussed support for Infection Research

World Class research demands concentrated and focused support. To be internationally successful, adequate financial resources and a supportive environment are both important. This applies also to the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). Scientists at the HZI study the mechanisms involved in infectious diseases and host defense. They systematically translate the results of basic research into clinical applications. The Friends of the HZI make an important contribution to these efforts.

Postdoctoral fellowships in Infection Research

“The Friends of the HZI” have launched the “Singh-Chhatwal-postdoctoral fellowship Program” for researchers at HZI. Fellowships are provided for a two-year period to candidates from a broad spectrum of life sciences and related disciplines.
Applicants should be highly motivated, have an active interest in the field of infection biology and expertise in laboratory practices. Excellent English skills are a basic requirement. We invite applicants to get in contact with HZI PIs and evaluate a joint application to the PostDoc fellowship program.
Instruction and application details about the program can be downloaded (see enclosed PDFs):

The application must be submitted by the PI. To identify a research subject and PIs please consult HZI’s web site.
The closing date for the next round of applications is 31 October 2019. Successful applicants could start in early 2020.
