Dr Werner Tegge
„For the successful design of useful arrays a deep understanding of the biological problem is essential. This is obtained by an intense exchange and close collaboration with our users.“
Werner Tegge studied chemistry at the University of Bremen, where he obtained his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) 1986 in the group of Prof. Bernd Jastorff. From 1987 to 1990 Werner went with a DFG fellowship as a post doctoral fellow to the University of California in Berkeley. In the group of Prof. Clinton E. Ballou at the Department of Biochemistry he did research on the synthesis and activity of inositol phosphates, which are important signal molecules in cell metabolism. 1990 Werner joined the HZI, initially as a post doctoral fellow and since 1992 on a permanent position. In the group of Dr. Ronald Frank he established the service for soluble peptides. From 1994 to 2005 Werner studied extra-occupationally medicine at the Medical Highschool Hannover. After obtaining his licence to practice medicine in 2005 (M.D.) he was awarded the title Dr. med. in 2008.
