Discovery of novel myxobacterial producer strains

The scientists identify new myxobacterial strains from locations worldwide using a set of specifically developed in-house purification techniques. The strains are then analyzed for the production of novel compounds using a combination of high-performance liquid chromatography and high resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC-hrMS) as well as bioassay-guided fractionation.
