Comparison of stool sampling at home versus at the study center
This feasibility study was performed to assess if participants in a population-based cohort would accept collecting their stool samples during their visit to the study centre. The assumption is that fresh stool material is of higher quality for certain lab methods than stool samples collected at home and stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator for some time before being sent back to the study center. This study is conducted in the study centres of the HZI and the Bremer Institut für Präventionsforschung und Sozialmedizin (BIPS).
