N-RENNT
Neuroinflammation in the context of non-neurotropic and neurotropic influenza A virus infection
N-RENNT represents a research network in which many research groups study complex interactions between the central nervous system and pathogen infections to develop new strategies for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of associated neurological disorders. Participants include scientists from the TiHo, the Hannover Medical School, the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, the Technical University Braunschweig, the Helmholtz-Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig, the Hannover Center for Experimental and Clinical Infection Research (Twincore), the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine in Göttingen, and the Boehringer Ingelheim Veterinary Research Center in Hannover. Our laboratory will investigate the clinical phenotypes in mice from different inbred strains for the host response in the central nervous system after influenza A infections with H1N1, H5N1 and H7N7 subtypes.
