Competence Unit Vaccination data of the GNC health study

Competence Unit „Vaccination Data“ of the German National Cohort (GNC)
In a pretest (Pretest 2) of the GNC, the Department of Epidemiology of HZI investigated the feasibility of collecting vaccination data from the vaccination certificates brought along by the study participants as part of the GNC health study. Due to the positive results, the module "Vaccination Data" was included in the follow-up examination program (Level 2) of the GNC health study nationwide, and the Competence Unit "Vaccination Data" was founded at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research.

The Vaccination Data Competence Unit is an independently operating institution of the GNC. It defines the standardised and pseudonymised recording of the vaccination status from the vaccination documents of the study participants and transfers these to the central database of the GNC, where they are available for scientific evaluations. In total, the vaccination data of at least 40,000 study participants from all 18 GNC study centres are to be recorded.
