Open Day 2009
Everyone is welcome to learn more about our institute!
We would very much like to invite you to visit the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research on our Open Day, 9th May 2009 from 11.00am to 06.00pm.
Scientists at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research study mechanisms responsible for infectious diseases and how to mount defenses against them.
What turns bacteria or viruses into illness-causing pathogens?
Why are some people susceptible to flu and others resistant?
How can we intercept or interrupt the mechanisms of infections?
You can find answers to these questions during guided tours through the laboratories.
Furthermore you can find information about job training possibilities and about opportunities to write diploma and doctoral theses in the HZI. The Fraunhofer Intstitute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM) and the German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell culture (DSMZ) will represent themselves and the Technical University Braunschweig will give advice for students studying biology and biotechnology.
Our canteen will be open for you throughout the day.
