The department of „Chemical Biology“ of Prof. Dr. Brönstrup at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, Germany is offering a position as Doctoral Researcher in Chemical Biology / Virology (f/m/d).
Tasks
Project title: PROTAC-powered antivirals.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the investigation of novel lead compounds with broad spectrum antiviral activity. The project is funded by the agency for SPRIN-D (see: www.sprind.org/de/challenges/antiviral/). The cellular and molecular mechanism of action and the pharmacological properties will be studied by a combination of virological, biochemical and chemo proteomic techniques, in close collaboration with other disciplines of the international network. A part of the work will be performed in biosafety level 3 laboratories on the campus.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a completed master degree or equivalent in cell biology, biochemistry, virology, pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines and should be highly motivated to develop their scientific skills. First experiences with independent planning of experimental methods (molecular biology, biochemistry and bioanalytics) are required. Expertise in virology is considered an advantage. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international team is mandatory.

Salary: TVöD (Bund) E13 65%
