Technische Universität Braunschweig

The Braunschweig University of Technology (Technische Universität Braunschweig) is the oldest University of Technology in Germany. It was founded in 1745 as Collegium Carolinum. The academic community comprises some 13,500 students and 3,600 university employees. 


The core disciplines are engineering and natural sciences. They are closely linked to our other disciplines of humanities and economic, social, and educational sciences. In the area of engineering, we are number one in Northern Germany in terms of the quantity and variety of courses offered.


With biology and biotechnology, chemistry, food chemistry, pharmaceutics and psychology, the life sciences are very well represented at Braunschweig.
