Mikrobielle Stammsammlung

Der Stoffwechsel von Bakterien bietet großes Potential für neue Leitstrukturen im Bereich der Antibiotikaforschung. Besonders erfolgversprechend bei der Suche nach neuen Antibiotika ist der biodiversitätsgeleitete Ausbau der am HZI bereits existierenden Stammsammlungen. Besonders die Myxobakterien, aber auch die schon viele Jahre als Antibiotikaproduzenten genutzten Actinomyceten, sind eine erfolgversprechende Quelle für mikrobielle Wirkstoffe.
