Organ-spezifische Immunregulation

Infektionen und entzündliche Erkrankungen können in allen Organen und Geweben auftreten. Der Verlauf dieser Erkrankungen wird sowohl vom zugrundeliegenden Erreger, dem Immunsystems als auch  lokalen Organ-spezifischen Faktoren beeinflusst. Diese drei Faktoren regulieren sich in einem komplexen Wechselspiel gegenseitig. Ziel unserer Wissenschaftler ist es, den Einfluss des Zusammenspiels des Immunsystems mit Organ-spezifischen Faktoren auf den Verlauf von Infektionen zu verstehen. Damit würden sich neue Optionen zur Therapie von Infektionen ergeben.
