Biologie synthetischer RNA

Ribonukleinsäuren (RNA) sind eine in lebenden Organismen allgegenwärtige Molekülklasse, welche essentiell für die Entwicklung und Funktion von Zellen ist. Dieser besondere Stellenwert lässt RNAs zu einem interessanten Ziel für die Entwicklung neuer gentechnischer Verfahren werden, um die Funktionsweisen von Zellen besser verstehen und gezielter manipulieren zu können.
Mit unserer Forschung wollen wir die zentrale Rolle von RNA in der Zellbiologie besser ergründen und die Erkenntnisse dazu nutzen, neue Möglichkeiten der Analyse, Diagnose und Behandlung von Infektionskrankheiten zu entwickeln.
