Molecular control of dendritic cell development and function

    My lab is broadly interested in the molecular control of hematopoiesis, immune system development, and stem cell function. Because the development and homeostasis of immune cells are inseparable from their function, our ultimate goal is to generate novel models for the functional studies of immunity, including responses to infection and autoimmunity.

    Dendritic cell development and homeostasis:Using genetic loss-of-function approaches, we have uncovered a novel role of the Notch and mTOR signaling pathways in the regulation of DC homeostasis and function.

    Plasmacytoid dendritic cell development and function:We found that transcription factor (E protein) E2-2 is preferentially expressed in pDC, and its deletion selectively abolishes pDC development and pDC-dependent IFN response.
