Recombinant Protein Expression
The research group is primarily acting as a platform for production of proteins for structural biology research. This production comprises the generation of corresponding recombinant cell lines, baculoviruses, and plasmid DNA, as well as the manufacturing of the recombinant proteins in stirred-tank bioreactors up to pilot-scale followed by various downstream processing steps such as process chromatography. This is accompanied by the development of novel production technologies to keep the facility state-of-the-art.
In parallel the group is working on several structural biology-orientated research topics in microbial pathogenesis.
You can find more information on the research group in these press releases.
