Project Group Mammalian Protein Expression

Our research interest focuses on the expression and crystallography of mammalian proteins that play a role in bacterial infections, such as proteins important for innate immunity or autophagy. Novel, highly efficient methods based on recombination are applied to establish stable cell lines for the expression of these proteins. The fermentation facility of the department supports our project with state-of-the-art fermentation and downstream technology.
