"Prevention and therapy" - the two pillars against diseases. Vaccines help in advance and anti-infectiva during the initial phase of the infection. However, for a lot of diseases no vaccines or therapeutics are available. Stations along the pathway to new substances include new diagnostic tools, insights into the immune system and the search for new vaccination strategies. Furthermore, we isolate, characterize and test new substances that may be considered as new anti-infectiva.
