Abstract:

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the major human infectious diseases killing about two million people each year. High prevalence and mortality in combination with HIV in TB endemic countries poses a serious health problem which currently is getting out of control in developing countries in Africa and Asia. There is an urgent need for developing new drugs active against the currently emerging drug resistant strains.
Results of our research on identification of drug targets and novel assays shall be presented.
