Web page of Biotool project launched at www.helmholtz-hzi.de/ASSIST. The site, maintained by Andreas Nerlich, and hosted at the HZI server, will provide general information about the ASSIST project, it will inform about aims and results of the project, and will also be used to speed up the communication between ASSIST project partners. The ASSIST project web page is divided into the following sections: overview, partners expertise and activities, project structure, scientific publications coming out of the ASSIST project, and press and news section. Kick-off meeting for ASSIST project hosted by Prof. Talwar at PGI Chandigarh. ASSIST project is intended to to apply a multi-disciplinary approach to understand the spectrum of streptococcal diseases in India, to develop a novel diagnostic test for rheumatogenic streptococci as well as an efficacious region-specific group A streptococcal vaccine. Scientists representing all participant institutions attend this first meeting, including all scientist directly responsible for ASSIST completion, and scientists specifically appointed for the project of involved in the project activities.
