The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research is a member of the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest scientific organization. 

An excellent community of scientists from more than 40 countries operates with an annual budget of €45 million. The center is supported by the federal government of Germany and the state of Lower Saxony (90:10). It is organized around it's scientific programs and cooperations.
