Labor der biologischen Schutzstufe 3
Krankheitserreger der Risikogruppe 3, sogenannte hochpathogene Erreger, stellen eine ständige globale aber auch nationale Herausforderung dar, da sie beim Menschen schwere Krankheiten auslösen, gegen die es normalerweise keine wirksamen Vorbeugungs- oder Behandlungsmaßnahmen gibt. Da diese Erreger nur in besonderen Laboren der Schutzstufe 3 (S3) erforscht werden können, bieten die modernen S3 Labore des HZI eine in der heutigen Infektionsforschung unverzichtbare Technologie Plattform - nur so können unsere Wissenschaftler neue Diagnoseverfahren, Präventionsmaßnahmen, oder Therapien gegen diese Krankheitserreger entwickeln.
